Change the life of at risk kids through tutoring
We have partnered with Denver University and the Bridge Project at Quigg Newton to help tutor at-risk kids. This is a weekly commitment during the school year that helps a child suceed in school. You can learn more about The Birdge Project here. Click the link below to volunteer through 5280 Church
Comfort victims of domestic violence with a meal
We’ve put on our aprons to help our friends at The Family Tree end domestic violence. The simple act of preparing a meal once a month at one of their safe houses helps these victims find hope as they heal and begin a new life without the fear of violence.
Help the homeless find safe housing
Our friends at The Family Tree have an amazing initiative that help the homeless move off the streets into permanent housing. During this process, these invaluable members of our community are offered transitional homes as they heal, recover, find careers, and move into their new permanent home. Your investment in cleaning, painting, and repairing these transitional homes allows more people to enter the program to find a new life of stability and sustainability.
Enjoy outdoor movies and meeting new people?
We have partnered with the Historic Elitch Theatre to host one of Denver’s Top Ten events to attend in the summer! Our summer movie series features live music, blockbuster movies, killer concessions, amazing door prizes, and 700-800 of our neighbors. All of this is for a good cause! You will help keep performing arts in our community. So, if you like throwing parties and major events you will not want to miss these events.
Use your green thumb to make a difference
Centennial Elementary (the school we worship at) has a community garden program that teaches kids about the importance of healthy eating and the science of a plant’s growth cycle. Each year the kids plant their seeds and harvest their crops for their salad bar in the cafeteria. You can have fun interacting with kids and their families by volunteering in the garden.
